What is the Gaart Belval?
The Gaart Belval is a community garden for the people who live or work in Belval. It’s meant to be a green space where people can come together, relax and engage with nature through gardening in an urban setting. We want to bring more green to Belval, to create a place for students and citizens to be together, get their hands dirty and let the soul breath a little.
„Die Idee besteht darin, einen inklusiven Ort zu schaffen“, erklärt Jan-Tobias Dörr. Er ist der Präsident der Vereinigung „Gaart Belval“, die aus der eingangs erwähnten Gruppe hervorgegangen ist und den gleichnamigen Garten erschaffen möchte. Damit werden zwei Ziele verfolgt. Zum einen soll jeder, der sich in Belval aufhält, die Möglichkeit erhalten, hier am Garten mitzuarbeiten, sprich, sein eigenes Obst und Gemüse anzubauen. Der Ort soll aber mehr hergeben als nur Obst.
